I sold a toy labeled as a Grimms SMALL stepped pyramid. This item comes in two sizes, the small and the large. The buyer had thought they purchased a Grimms large stepped pyramid, that was not the case. My item was clearly labeled as a small Grimms pyramid. Welllll they had requested a cancellation after I had already sent it out… the shipping didn’t update when she had requested the cancellation. I had let her know that I have zero issues with cancelling an order that has not been sent out, however because it was already shipped I cannot cancel the order.

The buyer then proceeds who blame me and say that I shipped the item even though they requested to cancel. I would never do that… especially to avoid situations like this. They then admitted they thought they purchased the large one and then accused me of scalping a toy. They received the item and are claiming I charged too much shipping and requested a return.

I am not accepting the return because the buyer has sent me messages accusing me of shipping the item after they submitted a cancellation request and I’ve received harassing messages from them like this. My item was also not incorrectly labeled and they received the item exactly as how it was stated. This is day three of waiting for Mercari to answer this case about the return.

How long does Mercari typically take to respond to these? She’s been sending me these messages almost daily.

Man after selling for like almost 10 years on mercari I have never been sent a worse offer than this...lol.

The combined list price of the bundle of 2 items is $50.40. They sent an offer of $30. I countered $42. That is where they messaged me “you can’t do $30? $35?”.

Honestly how other sellers price their items has nothing to do with me. Anyway, I said I’d accept $35 for the bundle. And they countered $30 again. I countered $35.

Then they offered a price via message on the individual item. I put it on sale so if they send an offer, they get an even better price. Now here comes another message saying they’re “not quite understanding”.

I’m usually quite willing to negotiate, but at this point I’m slightly annoyed and am tempted to block, given both items have a fair amount of likers. Had they been a little more courteous in their tone when bargaining, I might be more forgiving.

P.S. the $15 listing they mentioned either sold or never existed. I did my research, I’m the only seller. And if someone offered them $13, why would they send me an offer of $13.25 lol

edit: i ended up contacting my bank ,, everyone thank you so much for helping me and for giving me some advice🫶🏼. i genuinely didn’t know what to do because i just really wanted my money back 😭😭

i placed an order on mercari on august 11. package was shipped august 14. my package arrived to usps facility on august 24 and has not moved since. i emailed usps on september 1 and asked them about my package status and they said it was a possible ‘lost parcel’. i emailed mercari and they told me they couldnt do anything about it yet and that i had to wait. i emailed them 3 times asking for a refund and they would tell me the same thing. that i basically had to wait till the policy time said i can get a refund. i emailed them today asking, again. for a refund and they told me that i basically couldn’t get one because the policy time already passed, the packed was already rated, and that a refund may not be allowed anymore. i don’t know what to do, this is the first time it has happened to me and i just want my money back 😭😭

I have even reviewed their terms of service. What I bought doesn't violate anything. I didn't message anyone or list anything either. I'm actually surprised they even let me have my item. So anyway I guess I can't order Anthropologie anymore.

Is anyone having problems with this?

Edit: Before anyone gets confused I mean for the inbox notifications, everything is read in my inbox but it still have a notification that's apparently unread

After stealing my government ID, Mercari DELETED my newly made account because I wrote "Mercari moment" in a private message to a seller about their listing. The previous two messages were automatically deleted as they dared to mention the name of a separate marketplace. Absolutely dystopian practices.

I sold an item about a week and a half ago and the buyer wanted to return it. I accepted the return when the buyer started the process. It showed on the order page that they had until October 6th to ship the item back. Received a message yesterday from the buyer saying Mercari cancelled the return. I contact them and they said:

"Approved returns must be shipped within the required return window"

In my message to support I even attached a screenshot of the order page saying buyer has until 10/06/2026 to ensure that the tracking status for the return is updated. Today is 10/3 and Mercari cancelled the return yesterday on 10/2. Any idea why that happened? Mercari just keeps giving me a generic response and seems like they aren't comprehending my description of the issue. I'll try to attach a screenshot here of the order screen.

I shipped out a Photocard with first class envelope sometime in August. Tracking never updated, Mercari cancelled the order, so it’s just either lost or in limbo and I got screwed over. I KNOW it has been updated, it literally said “in transit ___, my state.” it was literally updated so idk what an acceptance scan is 😭😭
