Patchy beard – should I keep growing for the lumberjack look?

Hey guys,

I've been growing my beard for about 3 weeks now and it's pretty patchy on the cheeks and neck, but decent density on the chin and jaw.

My goal is a full lumberjack-style beard. I know I'm probably in the ugly phase right now but wanted some advice from people who've been through it.

Questions:

- Should I just let it go completely untouched for 3 months?

- Any product recommendations for filling in patchy areas?

- How long did it take your patchy beard to look more even?
