Lindsay’s Triumph 1976 Election
Around 4 years ago Republican John Lindsay managed to oust RFK and his southern allies from the White House and in replacement a new fresh face came in. President John Lindsay has faced many ups and downs over the last 4 years but has managed to have major success on domestic affairs and even some foreign victories. He managed to combat inflation leading to the economy finally cooling down, he signed major overhauls to RFK’s 1971 Crime Bill which officially ended the harsh punishments and signed into place new strong rehabilitative programs for criminals while also taking strong community and rehabilitation approaches to drug use. Furthermore it reformed racist and unjust jail and police practices while also giving police more funding to crack down on violent crime. It has represented a major success for the Lindsay Administration, he has also precided over the transition to green energy by signing the Environmental Protection Act of 1973 he banned harmful chemicals, regulated smog inducing industries, and banned companies from dumping toxic waste into lakes or bodies of water. Furthermore, he snuck in subsidies for green energy to help foster the growth of green industries. Foreign wise Lindsay has managed to mediate peace between Israel and Egypt, while losing in Vietnam he managed to make sure to have a calm transition out of the country. His opponent this year is Democratic Senator George McGovern along with his running mate Governor Bill Fulbright, McGovern has been tasked with uniting his divided party while also being practically controlled by the newly strengthened southern wing. Something which many traditionally Democratic voters are uncomfortable with and even willing to vote for the GOP over. Ultimately the choice comes down to is America willing to embrace Lindsay’s vision for a united and diverse America guided by the Party of Lincoln, or is it going to embrace the return of the Democratic Party and it’s Southern Wing.
