Can we retire the confetti cannons?
First off, congrats to all runners today, and amazing job by NYRR for an incredibly executed event! Security was a breeze, the addition of urinals was a huge win, and the aid and water stations were set up perfectly for the weather conditions. My only complaint all morning was that there were several groups using confetti cannons when their members came through. Between sound sensitivities, traumatic experiences, and current societal issues, these seem to be a very poorly thought out celebratory item. Am I in the minority in thinking that there are better ways to celebrate your runners and create photo opportunities?
