Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4 vs. Canyon Endurace AllRoad for first road bike?
Hey everyone, looking to buy my first ever road bike and I’m deciding between the Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4 and the Canyon Endurace AllRoad.
For context, I’m a college student and mainly planning to use it for fitness rides, longer solo rides, and general road cycling this summer on the West Coast. Probably riding stuff like bike paths, smoother roads, and occasional rougher pavement, but not serious gravel. Comfort matters to me since I’m new to road biking, but I still want something that feels fun and decently fast.
A few things I’m thinking about:
- Trek has the benefit of local bike shop support and easier sizing/service
- Canyon seems like better value/specs for the money
- I’ve never ridden a drop bar road bike before
- I’m a little worried about Canyon sizing / assembly / maintenance as a beginner
Would love to hear thoughts from people who’ve ridden either bike, especially as a first road bike. Which would you go with and why?
