I live a few hours from VA Beach and have been 5-6 times over the years and always had fun. I've stayed in hotels, airbnbs, etc., etc. -- I'm thinking of planning a long weekend later in August (I know it'll be crazy hot, but I want a last hurrah before autumn) -- in your option, what is the best hotel in the area? Budget is open-ended, I'd prefer something that is relatively close to some good restaurants (no more than 10 minute drive). No pool needed, I prefer beach. There are just so many hotels on Google, I'm curious what people think of as the best ones in the area.

Cville seems to have a lot of good breweries. If I were to bring a friend from out of town to one, which is best? Must have food and some level of outdoor seating. Doesn't need to be right in Charlottesville downtown - willing to drive up to 45 minutes outside town for a good one.
