GDT-less polyphonic MIDI SSTC review
I adapted Steve Ward’s design using an isolated gate driver IC, resulting in a compact, self-resonant half-bridge Tesla coil. The interrupter is built around an ESP32-S3, which uses USB OTG to receive MIDI input or read .mid files from a USB flash drive. It communicates with the coil via fiber optics. The coil is powered directly from 230VAC mains, still cold after the song, could theoretically run in continuous mode briefly. Schematics and code will be available soon. What do you guys think?
