Tesla Coil powersupply

Hi so I'm building a tesla coil using the Labcoatz PCB the general bullet points from his video. But he didn't mention anything about the power supply really as far how to build it, and doesnt have any Gerber files for a pcb for the parts he included on the Instructions he linked with the video. I thought of doing it on a prototyping board or using a turret terminal. But any help or guidance is appreciated.

The parts for the Power supply are:

One 12VAC transformer (this model is compatible with input voltages between 110V and 240V) - One bridge rectifier (most units that can handle over 25V and a few amps will work fine)

High voltage DC power supply - Two 250V electrolytic capacitors (over 500uF) - One SL32 1 ohm thermistor (inrush current limiter) - One bridge rectifier (minimum recommended current/voltage ratings of 10A and 1000V)

Need a SSTC expert opinion

I was trying my driverless sstc at 230v with ballast and as you can see it stopped working (the mosfet died really quietly). I need to now HOW DID THE MOSFET die ???

Because usually when the mosfet dies from overpower it just explodes violently.

And why as soon as I flipped the switch it made a huge arc and then smaller arc ?

Would a double half bridge sstc work reliably?

I'm building an sstc based on the cd4046 inspired by uhvlab's and teslaista555's design. In both of their designs, they are using a double full bridge configuration with 8x irfp460's. I'm wondering if I can replicate something similar with a double half bridge with 4x irfp460's. I am aware I could build a regular fullbridge, but I'm not sure if I could push the same amount of current through the mosfets as the irfp460 has a high rds on. I am also planning to design a pcb for it. This is my design so far:

ps: My goal is to make a nice performing sstc that works as reliably and efficiently as possible so I am trying to achieve ZCS with the cd4046
