Hello i am software engineer and I got accepted for assistant researcher position in university to study and work, its really new to me to work as researcher my supervisor told me "start getting comfortable with reading a lot of scientific literature." So im seeking some advice on websites or any resources to get scientific literature to read and what to expect as researcher and what to do to be a good researcher

Im 28 male IT engineer from Tunisia i will be moving to Grand rapids Michigan this August to do master in grand valley state university (gvsu) so the move-in to my on-campus room is on 27 August and i will be there before it by 2-4 days Im seeking guidance in finding host family to stay those days with them so it will be easy to move to the university on 27 August. I really appreciate any help i get even small information for guidance.
