Not looking for advice, just solidarity. My little one is going to nursery in a few months which saddens me a bit since I won't get to see all her firsts and we won't have our usual daily routine as much as I'd like to.
But what I'm looking forward to is not having to be on this measly maternity pay which is honestly appalling given how our population is supposedly declining yet mothers are paid peanuts when on leave so how are we supposed to be encouraged to have more kids.
I'd love to be able to buy stuff for my child without having to check whether anything is left after paying the bills with the little money that we get.
So here's me feeling a bit guilty that I'm looking forward to going back to work to be in a better position to provide for my child. Rant over
