Daughter was caught having sex with bf
I need some advice. I was a teen mom and have done everything to make sure my 16 year old doesn’t have to go through what I did. I’ve talked to her about safe sex, talked to her about dating, and even gave her privileges as she got older because she was doing well in school. Lately her and her bf have been having some problems and have been on and off and she’s been spiraling because of it. This is the last week of school and today I got a call from her school. They told me she was caught on camera performing oral and would be in school suspension for the rest of the year. I’m embarrassed and angry but overall just hurt, because I know it’s because she’s not really thinking straight. Before this I just had a conversation with her about taking a break from her relationship to focus on herself. The other thing is that people in her school (including some staff) have slut shamed her in the past and I’m afraid this might make things worse. Her dad is also out of town for the week and I don’t know how to break it to him, we both have speculated that she was sexually active but didn’t know for sure which is why we tried to communicate with her. We try to be understanding yet direct with our kids, but this is by far the most we’ve struggled with her. I don’t know whether I should pull her out of the school or have her go through it. I want to help her but she tends to shut down. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
