Septoplasty

Please bear with this long post, bc I really need help and suggestions.

So, I was a victim of domestic violence at a teenager and got punched in the nose at very close range. For the rest of my life, I’ve had breathing issues. When I finally went to ENT, she said that I had a 90% blockage. She recommended I go to a surgeon. The surgeon agreed and we scheduled surgery. What he didn’t realize, it was like a maze up there. Twisting and turning and very, very messed up. It took me about a month to start to be able to breathe again. The one thing that prompted me to get the surgery in the first place was sleeping issues. Anytime I was on my left-hand side especially, my nose would completely close up. I was wearing nose strips for the last few years prior to surgery which helped only slightly. So that brings me to today. I am eight months post septoplasty. My breathing overall has considerably improved, but my sleeping is still an issue. Especially on my left-hand side as I still get completely clogged up and I am still wearing the nose strips. I also sleep with a humidifier in my room. I will see if I still need it over the summer.

Has this happened to anyone else? By the way, I have had two follow-ups with the surgeon, and said that he could see straight up on both sides. He said it looks perfect. I did mention to him that I was still having issues with congestion overnight. He said that’s not unusual for most people. 🤔 Any advise or suggestions?
