If I have weakness in my left arm and

fasciculations in the same arm, what is left besides ALS?

I’m pretty in-tune with my body. I started to have weakness in my left bicep right around the time fasciculations began.

When I say weakness I mean I can’t do the same weight/reps with my left arm as I can with my right. This had never been the case until the last few weeks. Mainly bicep and back (row) exercises.

When I say less weight I mean if I do 10 reps with 35 pounds with right arm, all the sudden I can only do 3-5 reps with my left arm.

The higher the weight, the worse it gets.

This is terribly concerning to me.

I guess my question is…is this considered progressive weakness? And if it is, along with the fasciculations primarily in my forearm, bicep and back (all on my left side), I’m I looking down the barrel of an ALS diagnosis?

I will admit, I suffer from anxiety and depression, and I’ve read this can cause BFS.

But I just can’t get the weakness with my left bicep out of my mind. And the fasciculations are a constant reminder of it all.

Please Help!

I posted on here for the first time a few days ago but things seem to really be getting real.

A few weeks ago I noticed at the gym that my left arm was weaker than my right. That had never been an issue but I chalked it up to aging. I’m 45 now.

I few weeks later I started getting big time fasciculations in my left bicep. The fasciculations felt deep and were very prevalent. They were like this for a few days.

I began to freak out and I went to see my GP. My bloodwork for creatine kinase came back over 866. The high end of normal is around 450. This seems very problematic.

I haven’t been back to the gym so I have zero idea if my left arm has weakened anymore.

The fasciculations are still present but they are mainly in my forearm, a little in the bicep, tricep and shoulder. But they are MUCH more subtle.

I’m doing more bloodwork today and I’m meeting with my GP on Thursday.

If anyone could share and advice, good vibes or prayers I would very much appreciate it.

Please help

I’m a 45 year old male. A few weeks ago at the gym I noticed I couldn’t left as much with my left arm as my right. For example, if I could normally curl 35 lbs 10 times but became extremely difficult to do that 5 times with my left arm. I hadn’t been working out too consistently when I did this so I chalked it up to be older.

Then a few nights later I noticed that my bicep muscle started twitching like crazy.

The twitching in my bicep has mostly stopped but I’m twitching off and on in my forearm, tricep, shoulder and a little on my back, all on the left side, randomly throughout the day and night.

I’ve been to my GP and she did some bloodwork. Most of the bloodwork seemed mostly normal but something called creatine kinase. The normal range is 49 to 439 but mine came back at 866. I did exercise pretty heavily the day before.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t the best way to deal with the stress of all of this but any positive thoughts anyone could throw my way would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
