If I have weakness in my left arm and
fasciculations in the same arm, what is left besides ALS?
I’m pretty in-tune with my body. I started to have weakness in my left bicep right around the time fasciculations began.
When I say weakness I mean I can’t do the same weight/reps with my left arm as I can with my right. This had never been the case until the last few weeks. Mainly bicep and back (row) exercises.
When I say less weight I mean if I do 10 reps with 35 pounds with right arm, all the sudden I can only do 3-5 reps with my left arm.
The higher the weight, the worse it gets.
This is terribly concerning to me.
I guess my question is…is this considered progressive weakness? And if it is, along with the fasciculations primarily in my forearm, bicep and back (all on my left side), I’m I looking down the barrel of an ALS diagnosis?
I will admit, I suffer from anxiety and depression, and I’ve read this can cause BFS.
But I just can’t get the weakness with my left bicep out of my mind. And the fasciculations are a constant reminder of it all.
