Why do so many students regret their study abroad destination after moving?

Whenever people talk about studying abroad, the focus is usually on better opportunities, salaries, and lifestyle. But after reading experiences online, I’ve noticed that many students also talk about unexpected challenges like loneliness, cultural differences, difficulty making friends, work-life pressure, and the reality of managing everything alone.

Some say the country they dreamed about felt very different after actually moving there. For those already studying or working abroad, what was the biggest reality check after moving? Was it still worth it overall, or do you think students in India sometimes idealize life abroad too much?
