Spillway route now open

It looks like the construction work on the south side of WRL has been completed ahead of schedule. I was surprised to find it open on my loop this morning.

Update on the "Row Sinking Dallas Rowing" From Richie Witt

Stay tuned - more to follow with evidence just how far HP/DUC will go to take over a facility being run for the benefit of the citizens of Dallas. Think of it as a much larger enterprise than the kayak rental they also decided needed to be theirs. We are long overdue for this nonsense to end.

Rapid aerobic performance decline question for the old folks

I'm 67 and have been engaged in some form of atheletic endeavor from the teenage years onward. I was averaging 120 miles/week through late winter and spring. Roughly 2.5 hours for a 40 mile ride three times a week. I recently took a week off to travel with my wife. We did some hiking in the mountains, but that was about it for physical activity. My first ride after getting back I barely made 30 miles in 2.75 hours sucking air for the last 5. Suffice it to say I was shocked at the decline in my fitness level with just a week off. That was considered a "taper" not that long ago.

Question: as you age have you found it "normal" to lose your aerobic fitness MUCH faster than when you were in your Ute of 40 to 50?
