This fandom can be kinda mean.
I’ve been lurking here for years but I feel like I need to finally say something about the vibe of this community.
Lately, it feels like this fandom has become incredibly hostile to any kind of casual discussion or differing opinions. For example, someone posted earlier asking about what they thought was a plot hole. Instead of just explaining the lore or answering the question nicely, everyone completely jumped down their throat. It was wild to see how aggressive people got over a simple observation.And btw, maybe plot hole isn’t the right term, but it is incredibly on the nose that Shunnamite is also somehow personally connected to angel’s flight.
It’s not just that one post, either. It happens constantly. Anytime someone shares a differing opinion, criticizes a character, or interprets a scene differently, a whole bunch of users rush into the comments to insult them. The go-to insult here is always insisting that the person "doesn't have media literacy skills." It’s incredibly condescending.People should be allowed to misunderstand a plot point, have "hot takes," or just casually enjoy the show without being treated like they are stupid. Meanwhile, they’re just pointing out things that don’t make sense in universe or are due to a lack of creative writing in the show.
Can we please bring back respectful discussions instead of instantly jumping to insults?
