THE DIVISION is still the BEST LOOTER SHOOTER as of 2026 !

THE DIVISION is still the BEST LOOTER SHOOTER as of 2026 !

The division cames out 10 years ago , but nonetheless still the game of the genre !

But why is that ?

First of all , The context of the division 1

The game is based in Manhattan In 2015 after black friday , people started getting sick with an unknown illness spreaded by money. Thus making the society as we know , Collapse

You are a Sleeper agents of the government and your task is to put orders in all that mess.

The snowy and abandoned streets of Manhattan make the city feel completely lifeless, as if society disappeared overnight.

Unlike The Division 2, The Division is not the kind of game you can play with your brain turned off.

Every encounter feels dangerous, forcing the player to constantly adapt to enemy behavior and unpredictable situations. Different factions approach combat differently, making even simple fights feel tense and dynamic.

That constant pressure makes survival feel earned rather than guaranteed.

And because the game demands your full attention, every successful encounter becomes genuinely rewarding, creating a strong sense of accomplishment that keeps the experience addictive even years later.

Another reason why The Division still stands out today is the variety of experiences it offers without ever feeling disconnected from its world.

Each game mode completely changes the way you approach the game while still using the same character and progression system.

Underground turns Manhattan into a constantly changing maze filled with unpredictable encounters, while Survival transforms the city into a brutal snowstorm where enemies, temperature, limited resources, and isolation become just as dangerous as combat itself.

Because of this, the game constantly feels fresh and avoids the repetitive gameplay loop that affects many other looter shooters.

The Division achievements journey truly begins with the main story.

Manhattan slowly takes you by the hand and introduces you to everything the game has to offer. Every completed mission and every level gained gives a satisfying sense of progression, making your character feel stronger little by little.

But eventually, the Dark Zone starts calling you.

This dangerous area quickly becomes one of the most memorable parts of the game. Every encounter feels unpredictable, and trusting another player can easily become your last mistake. The constant tension and paranoia make the Dark Zone feel completely different from the rest of the game.

If you want to fully understand the world of The Division, you’ll also need to complete side missions and fully upgrade your base of operations.

And then come the collectibles.

Phone recordings, ECHO sequences, survival guides, missing agent reports… there are a huge amount of them. Collecting everything can sometimes become repetitive, but they add an incredible amount of immersion to the world.

Through these collectibles, you slowly discover how Manhattan collapsed, how civilians reacted to the virus, and how some people took advantage of the chaos for their own benefit. They make the city feel far more believable and human.

Once the main story is over, bringing a friend and replaying missions on harder difficulties becomes one of the best parts of the experience. Since the campaign itself is not extremely long, replaying it with tougher enemies creates a much more engaging challenge.

Then come the DLCs.

Underground is probably the weakest part of the game for me.

It fully embraces the core gameplay loop of The Division: shoot, loot, level up, repeat. At first, the constantly changing underground missions feel refreshing, but after spending dozens of hours repeating similar objectives, environments, and enemy encounters, the mode slowly becomes exhausting. At that point, loot becomes the main reason to continue playing.

Survival, however, is a completely different experience.

This DLC turns The Division into a brutal test of endurance. You constantly have to monitor your temperature, resources, equipment, positioning, and remaining time while surviving against enemies and the freezing blizzard surrounding Manhattan.

Every decision matters, and every mistake feels dangerous.

It is easily one of the most immersive and stressful experiences in the entire game. However, having to repeat long and difficult runs many times for achievements can eventually become frustrating despite how good the mode itself is.

Even after all these years, The Division still delivers an atmosphere and gameplay loop that very few looter shooters have managed to replicate.
