How to tell whether pain is from surgery / radiation or mets?!
HER2 + diagnosis back in March 2022 followed by chemo, double mastectomy, radiation and Phesgo. No node involvement and PCR achieved. The affected side has always been tender following surgery and reconstruction and then radiotherapy. A couple of months ago, I started getting what I can only describe as zaps in the area that lasted just a few seconds. It doesn’t happen that often but when it does, it kind of takes my breath away! I think I’ve made the whole area sore now by poking and prodding, trying to work out where the pain is coming from. As the pain isn’t there all the time, my team don’t seem overly worried, although they are seeing me this week anyway. But my question is, how do you know what is pain from all the damage or something cancer related?! I am really active and play a lot of sport and strength train so it could have started through aggravating the area but I’ve also seen some people say that the zapping sensation was the first sign that something wasn’t quite right. I’m taking myself off down rabbit holes! Thanks for any help.
