New cover
My pocket notebook was looking sad, so I made a new leather cover for it.
Added in some 90lb watercolor paper.

Does anyone else use watercolor to color their pages? I have a lot of Johanna's books, and they have nice thicker paper to use watercolor in. I can't use a lot of water, but I have some nice paint that doesn't need a lot of water to use.

Watercolor practice using a picture of an old barn that I took while driving through Tennessee.
In a rather small journal I made, with pages about 3x5 sized cold press Bee paper.
I like how the foreground turned out almost blurry looking, like how a camera might focus on the barn while taking a picture from a moving car. (I was on the passenger side).
You can't really see the pink I put in the sky though. I wasn't bold enough to make it more distinct.
I also messed up the barn door section, that area around it turned out a little wonky. I lost all my highlights and had to go back in with a white gel pen to add them in. Same with the roof. That gel pen has been super helpful! I also used a black brush tip pen to darken the shadow areas. I didn't like how light the grey dried, so the pen was helpful to get darker shadows since my limited palette has trouble getting that dark.
