1st generation PaperWhite no longer connects to PC post-jailbreak
Hi everyone,
I jailbroke (?) my 1st gen Paperwhite earlier this month using WinterBreak, and after a bit of faffing around have managed to get KUAL to work, and run/install KOReader. However when I connected my PW to my PC post installation it "crashed" (appeared to attempt to default back to the original Kindle OS) and the Kindle wasn't visible on my PC as a removable disk.
I am now very regretfully aware that you're absolutely not supposed to connect a Kindle to a PC while KOReader is running as this can cause issues, HOWEVER even when I've exited KOReader and restarted the PW (several times now) I can't get it to show up on my PC at all. Various cables only let it charge, and one just kind of makes it 'freak out', cycling through backlight levels and flashing a blank screen as though it's attempting to show me the 'please eject from your PC' screen and failing, which persists even when I remove the cable - I have to force restart it to get it to stop doing that.
Have I effectively rendered my PW useless? Is there a way to send documents to it without needing to connect it to a PC, which now makes it lose its mind? Or a way of starting the PW up in 'safe mode' so I can try to un-jailbreak and start again? Please help!
