Help! Overseeded lawn and top dressed and now have some kind of weed infestation! Dorset, UK
Title kind of says it all. But for a bit of background. We had some kind of fake strawberry looking fast growing weed infiltrate our garden last year. Nothing worked so ended up using glyphosate over winter and starting again from scratch this year.
Re seeded the lawn and it was growing well but needed over seeding. Did this, and a touch of top dressing and now I have hundreds of these things growing - they sprouted within a few days of over seeding and top dressing, none present when initially seeded so can only assume it was in the topsoil / sand?
Most of the weeds pull out with root intact and I’ve spend hours pulling them so far, the root is up-to an inch long and they’re growing fast. Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them without killing the grass. New grass is approx 6 weeks since seeding.
In the process of selling my house so don’t want the buyers put off.
