what just happend with my capitol one account

I have been attempting to rebuild my credit for a bit and had gotten a captiol one quicksilver, (unsecured), last summer. I have been using it pretty much like a charge card and paying off balances weekly. I had switched banks and there were a couple of weeks where the autodraft failed even though there wasn't a balance due. Capitol one cancelled my card without notice. I applied and got a new capitol one quicksilver, (oddly, my limit increased), when that arrived in the mail and I went to activate, I found that that account had been cancelled as well. If that wasn't enough of a kick in the nuts, my credit score just dropped 50 points for not having any credit accounts. Now I'm having to look into secured cards just to have some besides my debit cards I can make purchases with. Attempting to speak with someone on the phone is fairly useless, the canned response is- "look for a letter in the mail". Thought I was being a perfect customer of their product.
