Would a reverse Hack-a-Shaq technique be effective?
[Disclaimer, I am not super familiar with basketball, so this may be really dumb/obvious.]
Basically, instead of fouling a big guy who’s not good at shooting free throws, you could have a team of alright perimeter shooters that are trained to be incredible free throw shooters. Therefore, defense would relax a little more on them to avoid fouling them, and that would leave them more open for shots. I think this is a good idea (though obviously much easier said than done), has it been done before? Would it work in any professional basketball league?
