I’m starting to get a bit anxious about my 485 (Temporary Graduate) visa and wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat.
My Timeline:
• Applied: 9th March 2026
• Current Status: "Received" (nearly 2 months now)
• BVB Experience: Applied for a Bridging Visa B at the end of March to travel, and that was granted almost instantly.
I’m seeing a lot of people getting "instant grants" within minutes or days, but mine is just sitting there. I’m a male from South Korea and I did my mandatory military service—could that be why it’s taking longer? I’ve heard they sometimes do extra security checks for military backgrounds, but I wasn't sure if it usually adds this much time.
Has anyone else (especially other Koreans or those with military service) had a similar wait recently? Is "2 months" the new normal, or should I be worried?
