Fun naming game

So it’s obvious that Hyacinth was the last Bridgerton due to the late Edmund Bridgerton’s untimely death. Let’s play a game. If Edmund didn’t die, and do you believe they would have named their potential children, starting with I?

New step parent advice

Looking for advice or anyone who has been in this situation. Here is the backstory…

Mom and dad divorced when I was 26. Dad passed away when I was 27. I was 100% a daddy’s girl but had a good relationship with my mom as well.

Currently 38 and my mom remarried last Thanksgiving. My mom’s new husband has no family he is in contact with. He has never been married, though engaged numerous times, and very few friends. He is rather wealthy. Things were fine in the beginning, then his temper started to show. Never physical but very verbal. I have two daughters so when he started cussing out my mom in front of my girls because she was struggling to get on a kayak I stepped in. I told him I wouldn’t sit back and let him speak to my mother like that. Told my mom she can do what she wants but my girls will not be brought up thinking that that is the way a spouse speaks to their partner.

Ever since they he has tried to find ways to push me out of my mom’s life. He started by leaving every time I came around. He refused to come to my daughter’s ballet performances (she is a pre-professional ballerina) but said he would come if she played a sport. They got engaged at the beginning of November and were married by Thanksgiving. At their wedding I made the joke “I guess you are stuck with us now” and he took great offense to that. My mom ended up taking me to dinner around Christmas to express how offended he was with my comment and behavior. My mom and I didn’t speak for a while because I wouldn’t apologize.

Fast forward to March, we were all invited to celebrate Easter (also my youngest daughter’s 4th birthday) and her house. Then I was sent a text three days before uninviting my family (brother’s family was still invited). Again, my mom and I separated for a while. I told her I wouldn’t allow her to treat my children like this and would rather we go our separate ways. She promised to try harder, and was putting in a great effort, until this weekend. My mom invited all of us to their lake house for the 4th of July. It’s also my brother’s birthday so we tend to spend that day together every year. That morning I woke up to a text telling me that my family was no longer invited to come, that my mom’s husband didn’t want me there and was angry my mom invited us, and that she was sorry. They still had the rest of the immediate and extended family over, still had a big party. My family was the only ones excluded.

So, do I just cut her out completely? She’s my only living parent but I can’t jerk my girls around like this anymore. They were looking forward to spending holidays with their cousins. I’m stuck because if my mom leaves him I will always be the reason they broke up. If she stays I don’t think I will ever have a relationship with her again. I lose either way.
