I used to work in a guitar store and was a true bypass boutique pedal elitist. We used to snicker at people who bought Boss pedals. Now I prefer pedals that are more generic and easy to replace.
I didn’t care for the Blumes when I first bought it, sold it and bought another. When I was recording with my band and doing some tone searching I had an ah ha moment with my Tubescreamer and figured out how to make this kind of circuit fit well in the mix.
The Brainwaves is used exclusively for octave up, 7ths and 5ths.
I cut 30hz and dip 62.5hz on the EQ because my band uses electronic kick drums so the bass and bass drums aren’t in conflict.
The Fender reverb has a low cut and by using just a tiny bit of room reverb I feel like it allows the bass to breath a little.
