Spurs are now -38 in the 26 minutes Wemby has been off court this series, +29 in the minutes he’s been on court

Wemby is having one of the most impactful playoff series you’ll ever see.

Wemby minutes are thrashing the 64-win Thunder so far, posting a net rating even peak LeBron can’t boast to have posted against a team remotely similar quality wise.

Meanwhile the spurs are getting generationally cooked by the Thunder when Wemby’s off court.

Unfortunately Wemby can’t make the spurs play better with him off the court

Josh Hart reminds the Cavs that he does indeed shoot 3’s, finishing with 26 points on 5/11 from deep tonight

Hart reminded the Cavs that he did actually shoot 40% from 3 this season, finishing with 5/11 from 3 and 7 assists and 2 steals, and making 5 of his last 8 threes after an 0/3 start, and being dared to shoot all game long.

It’ll be fun to watch how this matchup goes the next several games!

Wemby at the half: a +15 in 19 minutes against the 64 win, fully healthy Thunder

I understand that Wemby is really good defensively, but he can’t possibly already be one of the best peaks of all time.

He’s too young. Also he doesn’t score 30 points per game like prime LeBron.

Good half so far though

Wemby lineups are currently posting a +19 net rating. Somehow, this is higher than what he posted in the regular season, and if sustained through the rest of the playoffs, would be the highest playoff net rating of all time

Wemby is currently anchoring a +19 net rating in the minutes he's played so far this postseason. This is after anchoring a +16.4 net rating in the regular season, which was one of the highest net ratings of all time.

If sustained through the rest of the playoffs, this would be the highest playoff net rating ever, beating out 2017 Steph's +18.5 net rating, who had Durant, Draymond, and Klay on his team.

It's one of the most insane first 2 series we've seen from a player. Defensive impact so far has shades of Bill Russell.

The postseason is a very small sample size, much too small for on-off to be read into to a big degree, but it’s genuinely remarkable how the Celtics so consistently post a better net rating with him off the court.

He’s now posted a negative on-off in 7 of his 10 regular seasons, and 7 of his 9 postseason runs.

This signal has basically never been seen in an all nba caliber player for this period of time. There are one off seasons here and there, over the long term strong on-offs are a hallmark of the most impactful players in the league.
