Anyone had success with trifold warranty on inner screen issues?Y
My inner left and center screen have gone pink. I submitted for a warranty claim and they are telling me it is damage even though there is no visible damage on the screen. I have asked for binding arbitration according to their terms and legal will not respond. They haven't even offered me the $649.99 special replacement deal they have publicly advertised and claim it does not exist. I have now filed a BBB complaint.
Business Name: Samsung Electronics America
Complaint Type: Warranty / Repair Issue
Complaint Details:
I purchased a Galaxy Z TriFold (Model SM-F968UZKAXAA, Serial R3GL202L44B) approximately 6 months ago. The inner display developed a pink tint and color shift on the left and center panels when unfolded (right panel remains normal). There is no physical damage to the device.
I opened service ticket 4185356340. Samsung has refused to repair the device under warranty and is now closing the ticket and returning the phone.
I have formally invoked binding arbitration as required under Samsung’s terms. I sent a formal arbitration demand to legal@samsung.com on June 18, 2026, followed by another email on June 23, 2026. Samsung has ignored both emails and is proceeding to close the ticket anyway.
Multiple credible sources (PCMag, SamMobile, PhoneArena, and user reports) have documented early inner display hardware issues on the Galaxy Z TriFold that are consistent with the problem on my device.
Desired Resolution:
I want Samsung to either repair the device under warranty at no cost or proceed with binding arbitration as I have formally requested.
Supporting Documents I Will Attach:
- Photos and video of the screen issue
- Copy of the repair quote for ticket 4185356340
- Copies of my arbitration demand emails sent to legal@samsung.com
Dear Samsung Legal / Dispute Resolution Team,
I am following up on my formal arbitration demand that I sent on June 18, 2026, regarding Ticket 4185356340 for my Galaxy Z TriFold (Model SM-F968UZKAXAA, Serial R3GL202L44B).
To date, I have received no response from your office. In the meantime, Samsung Support has continued sending me text messages threatening to close the ticket and return the device, even after I have repeatedly informed them that I have formally invoked binding arbitration.
This conduct is unacceptable. I have a valid warranty claim on a device that is only approximately 6 months old. Multiple credible sources (PCMag, SamMobile, PhoneArena, and user reports on Reddit and Android Central) have documented early inner display hardware issues on the Galaxy Z TriFold that are consistent with the pink tint and color shift on the left and center panels of my device. There is no physical damage.
Samsung Support has:
- Refused to escalate to a supervisor
- Refused to provide arbitration information
- Attempted to close the ticket against my explicit objection
- Continued to pressure me via text messages despite my clear statements that I am pursuing arbitration
I am once again demanding that this matter proceed to binding arbitration as required under Samsung’s terms. I request that Samsung either:
- Approve this repair under warranty at no cost, or
- Immediately proceed with binding arbitration.
If Samsung continues to ignore this demand and attempts to close the ticket without resolution, I will pursue all available legal remedies, including filing a claim in small claims court in Harris County, Texas.
Please confirm receipt of this email and provide the next steps to initiate arbitration within 5 business days. Failure to respond will be noted in any subsequent legal proceedings.
I have attached my original arbitration demand letter and supporting documentation for your reference.
Subject: Formal Demand for Arbitration – Ticket 4185356340 – Galaxy Z TriFold SM-F968UZKAXAA
Dear Samsung Legal / Dispute Resolution Team,
I am writing to formally invoke the binding arbitration clause contained in Samsung’s Limited Warranty and Terms of Service.

- Ticket Number: 4185356340
- Model: SM-F968UZKAXAA (Galaxy Z TriFold)
- Serial Number: R3GL202L44B
Issue
The inner display of my device shows a pink tint and color shift on the left and center panels when fully unfolded, while the right panel remains normal. There is no physical damage, cracking, or liquid exposure. The device is only approximately 6 months old and remains under the standard 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Multiple credible sources have documented early inner display hardware failures on the Galaxy Z TriFold since February 2026, including reports from PCMag, SamMobile, and PhoneArena, as well as numerous user complaints on Reddit and Android Central. These reports detail unresponsive screens, green flashes, color shifts, and partial panel failures — issues consistent with the defect on my device. This is a known early-production problem, not user-induced damage.
Previous Support Interactions
Samsung Support has refused to process this claim under warranty despite clear evidence and documented similar cases. Agents have:
- Refused to escalate to a supervisor
- Refused to provide arbitration information
- Been unaware of the official $699.50 Z TriFold inner screen promotional rate and offered only a generic 50% discount instead
- Refused to share their inspection photos while nitpicking the photos I submitted
- Attempted to close the ticket and return the device against my explicit objection
The following agents were involved:
- Lucas, Agent – Repair Center (ID: 5384034232)
- Eloy, Team Manager (ID: 5084147814)
This pattern of conduct demonstrates a refusal to reasonably address a valid warranty claim on a device still within its warranty period.
Demand
Pursuant to Samsung’s binding arbitration agreement, I hereby demand binding arbitration to resolve this dispute. I request that Samsung either:
- Approve this repair under warranty at no cost, or

Please provide the next steps to initiate arbitration, including any required forms and the designated contact, within 10 business days.
I have attached:
- Photos and video clearly showing the pink tint on the left and center panels
