I’m due early July with my first baby. I’m taking 12 months paid maternity leave, although I’ll be off work for 18 months. I’m wondering how the 5 week paternity leave works for my husband. His work is pretty flexible, and we want him to take off 2 weeks once she’s born, and another 2 weeks during Christmas, and possibly 1 more week sometime next year. Is it possible to take it in increments? And what’s the process like? Is there a waiting period to get paid?
