For the sake of this post, I'm calling him Jake. Also, I'm a female. We have a small friend group of four and none of us have classes together; only lunch. The four of us used to speak every day until spring break rolled around in the beginning of April and I left to another country for about a month before returning last Monday. Ever since then, Jake has been acting weird and is now avoiding me.

He wouldn't say a word to me all week, unless it's something like "hi" and he'd occasionally wave and give a high five or silent hand gesture.

During passing period, some friends and I, including Jake, would usually meet up in this hallway same time every day just to chat for a minute or two. This time, I was speaking with my friend and he came up but physically distanced himself and just watched us until the bell rang.

I've been told that it's not just me he's doing this to. I only see him speak with a few people now, the other two in our friend group.

We haven't fought and when I ask him what's wrong he just shrugs. When I message him I get left on read. When I get on the bus with him he walks to the other side. He gives me weird side eye glances out of nowhere. He's avoiding confrontation entirely and I just don't know what to do anymore.

A friend of mine even asked if he was still my friend and he said yes but when she asked "why have you gone so quiet?" He just tells a joke and plays it off.
