Drafted out in my design workbook, which was easy enough. But drafting onto cloth always is an issue fir me, as I have a heavy hand, and often pull the material out of shape while transferring the pattern.
But yhe stiching is a breeze, just one continuous straight line. I can't wait to see the finished pattern!
First time using my sashiko planner to 'stitch' with coloured pencil before going to actual cloth. The pattern looked easy in the reference book (Ultimate Sashiko Source Book), and the crosses WERE easy. But the woven diagonals got me so confused I had to pull out stitching at least 3 times, and go back to the planner with pencils to figure out the correct way. But I got it in the end. Yippee!
Now on to the next pattern. Sashiko is such fun.🥰
My first sashiko shorts mend on the crotch area. Messy but oh so satisfying. I'm surprised it didn't turn out bulky with the extra layer of fabric and the stitches. It's still supple. Now looking for more clothes to mend. 😊
