Mine was 1hr and 30 min of standing from Boggo Road to Helensvale in peak hour. Full standing load train. A truck got into an incident with one of the Warrigal/Bonemill/Nathan Rd crossings. Train was held at Moorooka for god knows how long. But THANKFULLY, I made it out in the end. My calves and glutes were so sore (but the air-con helped relieve my pain though) 😭😭

It also wasn't too long ago when the escalators at Springfield Central were inoperational for WEEKS, before Ipswich residents and the wider community finally pressured the QR bureaucracy to fix them. Like, damn.
Its just a shame that basic infrastructure like structurally-unsound staircases haven't been amended for more than 12 months now. What are your thoughts? Is this QR being negligent by cost-cutting on station maintenance or are deeper underlying forces at play?
I get that they're the closest secondary school to UQ, but if it means having to take away all our resources like our study spots in the library, then surely we can rename their school's ridiculously bloated name to something more accurate, ie. Dutton Park SHS. The only reason why they're called "BSSSSSSSSSC" in the first place is to trick all the young millennial parents into sending their gen alpha ipad kids to a hybrid public-selective school in Dutton Park instead of BSHS.
Also stop raiding the 139 and 169 buses at Boggo Rd. Its an indictment to my high sugar blood levels 🖤

Mine looks to be fine ...for now. I've got 2 group assignments at the moment. One was luckily from my in-person tutorial so I've met them face-to-face. And from what I can tell, they're going to have a good work ethic since they frequent tutorials regularly and have good interpersonal skills.
My second group assignment, on the other hand, might be in uncharted territory as they're two people I haven't met. It was hastily organized via a flury of emails from the unit's discussion board. I still haven't got any intel from one of them for his phone number, so then we can finalize a WhatsApp group chat as our primary means of communicating. So for now, its been a bit of an impasse towards doing more productive things, ie. delegating tasks to each group member.
Hopefully, though, all my two group assignments will work out okay. Let's hope I don't end up in a dead-end where we're all doing the entire assignment 3 days before the deadline :)
So how's everyone's group assignments looking out? Are you still on the search for reliable group members? Do you feel optimistic about your group mates? haha
At the moment, platform 1 seems to (at most) can carry 3 rigid buses or 2 metros at a time.
This creates heavy bus queueing all throughout the day, as the M1 and 222 must invariably terminate there, with the operator having to double-check that they don't take a sleeping passenger to the Countess Street bus layovers.
But I do like the new platform though, with its curved platform and PIDs on the ground level! Its certainly been integrated well with the existing Roma Street train station. Wide staircases and two new lifts.

While I was out shopping this morning, I made a little detour to Councillor Steve Toomey’s office to see my "It’s a Wrap Art Competition” winning artwork which was recently installed for the very first time.
This year’s theme was Public Transport, and I decided to enter under my maiden name. I wanted the artwork to be judged purely on its own merit, without my name or reputation influencing the decision in any way. So when I found out I’d won, it made the moment even more meaningful.
My piece celebrates Brisbane’s new Metro, capturing it in watercolour and pen from a dramatic perspective. Seeing it enlarged onto aluminium as a public artwork was such a surreal and proud moment.
The mural installation will be displayed outside Councillor Steve Toomey’s office in Ashgrove for the next 12 months, and then it gets to come home with me to the studio. I can’t wait!"
