Advice for fishing in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park?
My friends and I are embarking on a 7 day canoe camping trip, between Leano Lake and Mexican Hat Lake, in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park and I’m hoping to try out some fishing while we are here. I’ve heard walleye, pike, lake trout and sometimes bass can be caught here.
Sadly I’ve got pretty limited experience, and all I’ve really done is fish on Lake of the Woods, summer fishing from a boat with 1/2 oz lead jigs and live minnows for walleye (what I learned from my family - they only ever do the same thing). I’m now trying to take myself out and explore more places and expand my fishing knowledge/experience, so if anyone has advice on shore vs canoe fishing, considerations for rods/reels, tackle (jigs vs spinners vs something else) I’d love to hear it! Thanks!
