Amapceo bereavement leave
I've read the collective agreement and just need some input interpreting it. My hubands grandmother just passed away. She's basically a grandmother to me as well so obviously I want to go be with our family ...but I'm not sure if that qualifies for bereavement leave?
I'm permanent amapceo.
The collective agreement says:
Bereavement Leave
"23.8.1 A full time employee shall be allowed up to three (3) working days and a part
time employee shall be allowed up to three (3) consecutive days leave of
absence with pay in the event of the death of a spouse, mother, father, step-
mother, step-father, mother-in-law, father -in-law, son, daughter, step-son,
step-daughter, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law,
brother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, foster child, ward or guardian, former
guardian or former ward, foster parent or former foster parent."
Just wondering if anyone's been able to use it for grandparent in laws
