Night City and morality.
While I really love how this game and the storylines in it are still discussed even today and I think vast majority here do understand that things are often not so black or white. For some V's it might be, but overall I think the game often leaves it open for interpretation on purpose..
What bothers me, is when our current day morality is treated as a law that exists in this universe. I feel like it's missing the point entirely. Few if any are actually purely good in NC and the city will either corrupt them or eat them alive. This I don't think the game is vague about at all.
So like in the recently discussed Claire affair. She is acting irrationally for losing her partner, but I don't think that she lying to you should determine her entire character when she is willing to back down when at the verge of getting her revenge. Kinda same with So Mi, she is a slave having her being taken over by essentially a demon. Yet when just about to be free she confesses to you, risking everything.
Same in a way that while they and so many other characters have done mistakes and can arguably be bad people, they do also have some humanity left in them, that they reveal at their weakest moments. That's what the game asks of you too, can you forgive them or can you deliver that judgement on them? Same with the endings, are you any better than the people you stepped on just to survive?
