My Ob has scheduled me for a c-section at 37 + 2 being that I’m a type 1 diabetic and my baby is in the 99th percentile.

My question is, when my husband goes home after visiting hours, who’s going to help me with the baby?

I’ve been told I might get lucky with a good midwife who may help me but otherwise be prepared to do the first couple of nights alone? WTF? Hahaha.

You’ve just had major abdominal surgery and are not supposed to move or carry anything heavier than 3kg. I’m not even sure I would have gotten out of bed by the time he leaves but yet we are expected to care for a new born!?

This is at a public hospital in Sydney Australia. Can anyone share their experience and any tips on how to manage?
