I know few have good things to say about Instacart in general, and I know we’ve all been through every inconvenience in the book, from app trouble and poor support, to bad customers etc..
But I want to thank Instacart for carrying me through a tough time in a career change.
It took me almost 7 months to find a new job (not just any job, but a career with longevity and something I take pride in).
Through those 7 months. I did Instacart FULL time. 35-40 hours of logged time each week.
It kept my rent paid, my car note paid, as well as all my other bills paid with even a little spending money each week.
Sure my new (were new) tires are halfway gone, a coupe of oil changes, and about 8 thousand miles tacked onto the odometer.
I have to say it definitely still trumps working a 9-5 run of the mill job, by a long shot. I learned a lot about myself in this time. Became sober from alcohol, learned to be more responsible and live within my means.
And I did meet many great people, and helped many people, elderly, disabled, etc.
in my experience.. the good outweighed the bad.
Thank you Instacart, and goodbye to all the hours wasted in waiting in parking lots during weekdays.
