The difference between Wilshire/Western and Wilshire/Vermont in terms of vibes is insane

Wilhsire/Western looks like a modern (by US standards) subway station, whereas Wilshire/Vermont is basically an open air toilet. The vendors selling clearly stolen merchandise, people selling perishable food items that have been sitting in the sun for god knows how long on a tarp on the floor and blocking the corner where pedestrians have to stand, vendors blasting shitty music at 8AM, a new homeless encampment, and of course the tweakers. Not to mention, they all set up right on the bus stops, on both Vermont Ave and Wilshire Blvd, how is that fair to transit riders? They have almost no space to stand and wait. Wilshire/Vermont is a pretty important junction in the Metro Rail system, and this is what it is allowed to decay into?
