Small acts of defiance of the EHRC (likely) segregationist guidance

I have been thinking of easy ways to protest it.

A few months back I bought some pink felt, glue and badge backs and have made some very noticeable pink inverted triangle badges, ready to go. To remind the cis supremacists of the last time they tried this 90 years ago. I mean they probably won’t last but I have 20 of them so I wont run out for a while and they’re easy to make.

I have a punk style black customised tshirt with some protest slogans on the front and a massive pink triangle in the back bearing the slogan “We are not your üntermenschen” that I wore to a trans pride march. it got a lot of attention from photo journalists, but none were published cause … the media 🙄.

Small acts of defiance for certain, but low effort ones I can do without it taking a toll.

Considering other stuff too, but not discussing in front of our Mumsnet lurkers, who will DEFINITELY be here should the “advice” drop tomorrow

MtF surgeon

Has anyone has MtF GRS with Mr di Taranto? What was your experience and were you happy with results?

Checking the posts archive I understand he retrained with Miss Rashid from FtM to MtF surgery?

Pertinent Politics - Andy Burnham Makerfield constituency

I am very open to being (civilly) disagreed with here. What are your thoughts? These are mine.

So there is going to be a by-Election at Makerfield where an MP has stepped down to permit Andy Burnham to re-enter parliament with an ultimate plan to become PM instead of Starmer or Streeting. I believe this COULD have an impact on the future of trans rights and healthcare. It's not a guarantee, but worth a spin I think.

Burnham, according to polls, would HAMMER Streeting. But Deform have said they will throw all their resources at that by-election (So the Heritage foundation money, the turning point money, the baby eating US billionaires money, the Russian Oligarchs money and the whole might of the UK media including the BBC) and it's close.

Whilst it is not ideal for us to vote Labour, Burnham is a much better alternative to Streeting.

It is my opinion that for this single by Election, in our own best interests, our sibs in Makerfield might be better served (It's hard to say without retching) by voting Labour 🤮

Additionally, though there is less in it for THEM, the Lib Dems and Greens would best serve the nation by sitting this one out until the next GE.

As a campaigning strategy Labour might even win back a few Labour voters from Reform, by promising that Burnham would work to pull Labour back to who they SAID they were before the election

Interesting - Surveys say the 3 MPs who would beat Starmer in a head to head are all BROADLY trans allys

I'm not saying it is why they would win, but it's an INTERESTING coincidence that the most supportive or LEAST transphobic ones are the only ones that could beat him. Also the percentage by which the others could gain against him has a broad correllation with fence-sitting party line toers doing better than out and out TERFs with the unhinged anti-immigrant Mahmood bringing up the rear

Weaselly is going for it. The arch transphobe has quit as Health Secretary and is trying to oust Sturmer

It's official now. the knife is in the back. I repeat, the knife is in the back

This is hilarious, but also ... goddess help us all!

Currently probably our best alternative is Big Ange, unless they can also work Andy Burnham in.

New Commissioners appointed to EHRC (Just news. Not obviously good or bad)

Third post of the day for me today. Possibly the most pertinent.

Philipson has appointed 6 new commissioners to the EHRC. I could not find any obvious history of trans positions from either of them. (Note that there are already two TEMPORARY commissioners on a one year term appointed last December who are very trans positive)

I don't have the time to research them today, but there's bound to be one or two bigots

So it’s an attempted coup by Weaselly

So whilst pretty much everyone wants Starmer out, there is a feeling it has turned into a coup by Weaselly Streeting and his allies. First the threat to stand by TERF Catherine West, then three of the four resignations were by TERF allies of Streeting (which includes Jess Phillips) and today Streeting and Starmer are having a private meeting.

There is an article in the New Statesman that I could not make an archive copy of, where some Labour MP said “When it all became about Streeting it was doomed to failure“

So it looks like the whole thing was staged to try and hide the fact that the far right of Labour was staging a coup.

I guess we wait and see how this car crash plays out.

And what happens to the EHRC “guidance” in the meantime? Who the f*** knows? (Starmer better not sacrifice us as part of a deal!!!)

Asked if he would step down, (Starmer) said: "I'm not going to walk away and plunge the country into chaos."

Like he hasn't done that already anyway?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz62dwe30wdo

For context, SNP still gonna govern in Scotland

Plaid Cymru likely to be the largest party in Wales (though not an outright majority)

Labour losing votes to everyone in England.

Starmer went from taking power with the largest majority in decades, to being less popular than the TORIES!

Talk about a lack of awareness!

(BTW has Corbyn's party collapsed yet? Not heard a peep apart from Zarah Sultana

there are devolved government elections in Wales and Scotland, and +++EDIT: the following elections in England: 136 councils All 32 London boroughs, lections are also occurring in 32 metropolitan boroughs, 18 unitary authorities, 6 county councils, and 48 district councils, Six directly elected mayoral positions are being contested, including Croydon, Hackney, Lewisham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Watford (so not all of England) END EDIT+++

they are more important than it seems.

the far right al ways votes en masses in council elections ans we have seen the mess reform makes when they run the council and the immediate anti trans flag bans and library book selection crap they always pull.

And Health care is a devolved power. If Deform Get in in Scotland or Wales, we might be fkd.

so if you are registered, VOTE. SNP, Green, Plaid Cymru is my choice. You must choose your own. it sends a message and protects us

TRIGGER WARNING: Just the clueless Spectator shrieking about Bash Back and calling us nihilists. There is nothing here that threatens us, so if you're having a bad day, give this one a miss.

To summarise, Jeffery thinks Phillipson ordered the EHRC "recommendations" to be toned down because of Bash Back. Which is moo poo of course. Its because it simply was not legal and there was not enough "respect and dignity" to hide behind.

But it was a hilarious piece of propaganda. Not gonna change anyone's mind either way, just feed the bluster and outrage of the indignant TERF daydrinkers and elderly tories.

Persoanlly I found it funny. He TRIED to have a pop at Charlie Craggs and it only made her seem EVEN MORE cool
