Hi. I have a childhood best friend who has panic attacks a lot. It has increased lately. They tend to become almost angry when it happens like throwing dishes and so on. They haven’t thrown dishes or done anything like that in front of me. In fact they often keep the more intense side of it hidden. They only let themselves become vulnerable like that in front of their mom at best.

I have talked to them a few times about it but I’m still not sure on how to help them. I’m worried it’s getting worse and it’s affecting their life quite a bit. I was here hoping people would share instances of something someone else had done for them that has helped them feel better. Or even something you would wish someone would do for you. Id love a few personal anecdotes too if anyone wants to share cause it helps me understand better as well. And i included the word weird in the title cause I’d appreciate answers that aren’t restricted to what’s appropriate or what’s generally supposed to work for everyone as well!
