Virus detected by Windows Security
Firstly, I sadly do not have any screenshots to share at this time. I should have taken some but I was startled both times it happened.
A certain sim has been the target of constant attacks. At first, merely mass requesting users to join a conference where offensive messages were sent and (rightfully) people being confused and chatting about what was happening. Later, you didn't even get the choice of accept or rejecting, you were automatically added to the conference where the creator of the conference would spam offensive messages and links.
And now finally, they will now add something along the lines of "ENJOY YOUR VIRUS!" And Microsoft will detect a threat. I've scanned several times and the 2 times that this did happen, it was immediately taken care of. Whatever it was.
My question is, how on earth is this possible?
I did not click on any links, objects or otherwise. I did not attach anything. I did not join any conferences or groups or add any strangers. And I was on my own private land away from anyone from this sim thats being targeted. These are brand new accounts this person has made and just suddenly started adding people to conferences before sending these links & supposed viruses. I also exclusively use firestorm.
For the time being, I have IMs set to friends only in hopes that if this happens a third time, I will not be affected. But I don't want to have to rely on this forever, I want others who I don't have added to still message me again, especially if they are a customer needing support (yes I know ncs exist but my point still stands.)
