As the title said I’m looking for apartments around or under 900 dollars. Preferably something 850 would be perfect. It would be just me and my cat, I am a woman so safety is definitely a concern as well so probably not the Gates or anything. Anyone have any recommendations or experience with cheaper apartments? I don’t really care about amenities as long as it’s cat friendly (parking and laundry would be nice but not a deal breaker)! Thanks!

So my bf and I have been together for a long time, high school sweethearts technically. I’ve dated other people prior but he has not so he doesn’t have prior experience, but he is an amazing boyfriend! We both still live separately as we were both in college but now I’m in the space to be able to afford an apartment on my own. I would love for him to live with me but he wants to stay at his place to take care of his mom financially (aka give her rent money) as she is an older woman. He wants me to move in with them but I don’t feel comfortable moving into another person’s home. I want my own space. I don’t really know how to bring up that I’m wanting to move out on my own, I know when I mentioned it previously as sort of a one off comment he jokingly said “I’d be so mad.” Probably at the fact that I’d rather live by myself than live with him and his mom? I guess what I’m asking is 1. If this boundary is unreasonable and 2. How should I go about telling him I’m actively looking for apartments and will be applying to some soon. I love him a lot and don’t want to hurt him about this.
