Fold 8 Upgrades?

Anyone thinking of upgrading? I know it's not a major update overall, but for me the new battery tech was worth the buy. Most probably waiting for next year's release (and I don't blame you), but just wondering who's considering the 8 or 8 Ultra

Crappy return polices everywhere

Why do the shops and brands in this space suck so much when it comes to returns? I know they are mostly small businesses, but why piss someone off and lose a customer entirely, rather than just give them their money back within a reasonable timeframe? Especially in a luxury brand market (let's face it, these are pretty much all luxury brands we talk about in this sub). When operating a clothing business with a major online presence, it seems like a very obvious thing to me that you need to have a good exchange/return policy in place if you're going to keep customers coming back. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm buying a $300-$500 shirt I expect a better experience than when I'm shopping at discount stores. Currently that's not happening. Unfortunately, I have an ever-growing list of heritage wear shops/brands I just won't buy from anymore because of this. The first one on my list was Brave Star, and then Naked & Famous. I remember seeing those and thinking, "How can they not offer refunds... at all?" Also Brave Star's customer service is junk; at least N&F are cool and easy to work with.

In every other hobby/interest I've had, returns never been much of an issue. These days, before I buy anything I check the store's return policy even if it's a good deal or if they're giving free shipping, etc.

I don't believe any claims about their margins being too tight and that they're barely surviving as a small business, etc. I also strongly dislike this Checkout+ crap some of them have added. I shouldn't have to pay them to allow me to access a halfway decent return policy, especially before I even know if I need it. This is garbage and I won't buy from any company that uses schemes like this to sneak another $10 out of my pocket for nothing.

Here's a short list of notes I keep on many of the shops in this space just to make sure I don't fall into a trap and get stuck with a very expensive item that I can't wear or use:

•Guilty Party, Snake Oil Provisions, Withered Fig, Self Edge, Dant, Iron Pyrite Production, Mildblend Supply Co. and Blue Owl don't offer refunds at all. Exchange or store credit only.

•Division Road accepts returns and charges $20 to send it back. This is one of the better ones.

•Franklin & Poe gives refunds, but their time frame is too short. I was at a conference recently when they sent my shipping label and because I didn't have it sent back to them within 7 days they stuck me with store credit.

•BlackBlue keeps 6% of your refund (but pays for return shipping). This can get quite expensive if each item is $400!

•Iron Shop Provisions charges a 10% restocking fee and a $12 return shipping fee. Glad to see they added a refund policy just this year, but it still needs a lot of improvement.

The best ones I can think of are Redcast Heritage, who gives us 14 days to return, and Rivet & Hide, who allows 21 days! Full refunds. Neither of them try to box us into store credit or charge a restocking fee. You just have to pay to send it back. Why can't every store be more normal like these two?

Apologies if this comes off as a rant. It's just me wondering if I'm crazy.
