Paid Xfinity Directly - Requesting Debt Recall for Eastern Account System
Hello, I am reaching out regarding a billing dispute and to request an urgent debt recall.
Back in November, I contacted Xfinity to close out my account. The representative I spoke with explicitly stated that the payment I made at that time was my absolute final payment and that my account balance was resolved.
Recently, I discovered a derogatory mark on my credit report from a third-party collection agency, Eastern Account System, claiming I still owed $119.
When I called Xfinity today to resolve this, the phone agent explicitly told me that if I paid the $119 directly to Xfinity right then, the credit flag would completely disappear. Trusting that statement, I paid the $119 balance in full over the phone to protect my credit profile. However, immediately after taking my money, she transferred me to another department where those agents claimed they had "no control" over the collection and knew nothing about removing it.
Because I was promised a credit removal, paid Xfinity directly, and this entire situation stems from an original agent error back in November, I need a corporate agent to formally RECALL the debt from Eastern Account System.
