The topics on which parties are Marathis from all political spectrum roughly align ?

Please let me know any points that you can think of. As far as I can think

🛑1) Eradication of Untouchability (and castism to some degree.

As per statistics Maharashtra done a good job to eradicate castism. Caste politics has been always been here and rising but straight up castism has been looked down at least to somewhat decent degree in Maharashtrian ideology (Maharashtra Dharma) and in public life Anti castism has been common ideologue since 12th Century from Chakradhar Swami , Dnyandev , Tukaram to Phule, Shahu and Ambedkar. Even Marathi conservative wing has a lining of anti castism of Agarkar and supposedly Savarkar ( don't know for sure about Savarkar due to lack of sufficient research form my side as of now)

🛑2) Superstitions (Andhshradhha Nirmulan)

Spiritual Babas are allowed but Miracle Babas are not by law and sacked by Police frequently (even under BJP rule). Miracle Baba are not allowed to take massive gathering like that in Northern India. Sitting CMs and politicians don't visit this Babas at least publically. Recently a Baba was arrested from Konkan for the claim of child bearing in childless couples. Some massive Baba from North India was supposed to take gathering in Nagpur but had to cancel or something. After 2014 , the hate towards Narendra Dabholkar and Andhshrddha Nirmulan Samiti has been on rise by Hindu nationalist. BJP MLAs and some Hindu nationalists alos boast about his murder but I would say we are doing a really good job supported by all side of politics to eradicate superstition.

🛑3) Arts and culture

Heard from many Non Marathi actors about thriving Marathi theater/ cinema , arts scene. Although current regime is slowly seeping the censorship in.

🛑4)Women's liberty and safety. No need of explaining there I suppose.

🛑5) less religious fanaticism or Secularism/ liberalism for the lack of better words.

Right wing/BJP has taken a massive fork from secularism especially since 2014 (just or unjust secularism however you see it)

but we do have a comparatively less degree of religious fanatics/ More social amd religious harmony between Marathi Hindi, Marathi Muslims , Marathi Jains, Marathi Buddhists etc.

One of the wise thing that Raj Thackeray said about North Indian immigrants that they create their own constituencies. Which is true, he is a politician so obviously he thinks in terms of constituencies but as we all have experienced North Indian immigrants do create their own ingroups and islands , they expect to literally import their states in Maharashtra. There is massive gap between Philosophies / cultures / social environment , whatever you call it of North India (same gap that kept them underdeveloped btw) and the common Minimum programme of Maharashtra.

What do we do about North Indian immigration that is very resilient to assimilation with local culture, language and common minimum programme of Maharashtra ?

Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has given media bites regarding the implementation from 15 th August in past few days so inadvertently the hate wave against us is coming in matter of few hours from news spinning Hindi media , Insta reels and reddit. Please share this reply with them.

👉Rikshaw/ Permit holders had declared while applying for the permit that

~ They know the local language

~ They have been resident of Maharashtra for 15 yrs (Domicile)

The rules are there since 1989. There have been repeated official indications in 2010 , 2019 and early 2026 about the strict implementation.

👉Transport minister Pratap Sarnaik himself have confirmed that only the basic conversational Marathi is expected for which

1st May 2026 deadline was given which was extended or 15th August 2026.

On the top of that

transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has faintly hinted towards possibility of further extension of 15th August deadline.

👉Maharashtra government have appointed 1600 Marathi teachers with basic conversational Marathi syllabus for the Rikshaw and taxi drivers.

Maharashtra government have spent 1 cr on the salary of those 1600 teachers.

👉Common Arguments

🛑 Every Marathi person knows Hindi so why should immegrant non native Rikshaw / Taxi driver should learn Marathi?

No. Not every Marathi knows / is comfortable in Marathi

Even if a Marathi person knows Hindi ; he has right to avail public services in Marathi.

Portion of Marathi people uncomfortably know very basic Hindi.

There is a large portion of less literate/ Rural / Elderly Marathi people who do not know Hindi.

Maharashtra and Mumbai has been built upon the backs of those people.

Those people have right to avail public services in Marathi.

Confidence and dignity of those people in public spaces will absolutely not be compromised in Maharashtra for the convenience of the public service provider and Non natives and immigrants who do not want to learn Marathi.

🛑Not enough time has been given to learn Marathi.

No. Much more than enough time has been given to learn Marathi .

The rules are there since 1989. There have been repeated official indications in 2010 , 2019 and early 2026 about the strict implementation.

So 36 years at most and 6-7 months atleast has been given which is much more than enough to learn few sentences of basic conversational Marathi.

on the top of that

Being domicile (15 yrs resident of Maharashtra) is a condition for acquiring rikshaw/taxi permits.

🛑 How poor Rikshaw / Taxi drivers can learn Marathi while working all day ?

Rikshaw and taxi wala are in a very good spot to learn vernacular basic Marathi due to their daily interaction with locals.

As mentioned above government ran basic conversational Marathi learning classes with 1600 teaches and spent 1 cr on their salary alone.

Many government and non government organisations like Mumbai University, Shiv Sena have ran Basic conversational Marathi classes for many years at almost no fees.

YouTube and internet is also there.

🛑 What about roads , water , traffic etc etc

Issues of language and those issues can exist at the same time. Infact if we further extend the line ; never ending uncontrollable migration to Mumbai is one of the primary reason for the stress on the infrastructure. It's high time to also ask accountability to the home states of migrants regarding the poor state of infrastructure that forces the uncontrollable migration towards Mumbai.

Please do not use roads , water , traffic etc as a mere talking points to invalidate the concerns of your equal fellow Marathi countrymen and feel good about yourself.
