I know my roommate is using drugs, and I don’t know how to help him.
I know that he is using drugs.

His family doesn’t live here, and there really isn’t anyone close to him that I can reach out to. I feel like I’m the only person around who knows what’s going on, and I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

I don’t want to call the police or get him into legal trouble. My goal is to get him help, not punish him. At the same time, we live in the same house and I’m becoming concerned about both his safety and my own.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What can you actually do when you know someone is using drugs and get help? Is there a service or organization I can contact for guidance without automatically involving law enforcement?

I’m on H-1B status and recently discovered that CBP shortened my I-94 expiration to match my old passport’s expiration date, even though my H-1B approval (I-797) is valid until September 2026.
My attorney told me that since the overstay is under 6 months, it shouldn’t create a bar to re-entry, but they still strongly recommend that I leave the U.S. and re-enter with my new passport and valid H-1B visa before filing my extension.
Has anyone been through something similar? Were you able to get a corrected I-94 upon re-entry without any issues?

Filed I-360, I-485, I-765, and I-131 on March 8, 2022 through VAWA. My I-360 is still pending with no updates, but I continue receiving renewed prima facie determinations.

My I-485 was transferred to another USCIS office on February 5, 2025, and there have been no updates since then.

Has anyone with a similar timeline been approved recently? Any idea what the I-485 transfer might indicate?
