2024 Mazda CX90 with sticky steering (now out of warranty)

Update to this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MazdaCX90/s/HP4TEe9TXv

The car never produced a code (as expected). After 5 weeks of waiting, we asked Mazda to make a decision. Their decision was to offer no support for the fix. I contacted a lemon law agency in our state who informed us they didn't think it case was strong (they said since the only time we complained about this issue inside 12k miles and 12 months was when we brought it in for a recall, then our state's lemon law would not apply). They did agree that we had a strong case for breach of warranty under Magnuson-Moss. We instructed them to move forward with it. We then picked up our car from the dealer at which it was being held to take it to a different one to be fixed (at our expense; the dealer we had it at was the one we bought it from, but the service department is pretty bad). The day after we made an appointment at the other dealership, they informed us that corporate says they were not allowed to work on our vehicle not will any Mazda dealer. So now we can't even pay to make it safe to drive.

2024 CX90 Premium Plus, 40k miles with sticky steering

CROSS POSTED

I'm having this issue as well. 40k miles on a '24 purchased in July '23 (super early). Has had the recall done, been in for cracking and sticky steering several times. Now out of warranty and our local dealership is keeping the car going on 4 weeks now because Mazda corporate says it has to throw a code before they can decide if they'll cover any of it (good will review). Estimate for a new steering rack is $5400. My understanding from Mazda corporate is that without a code they could just deny with no appeal. Anyone else successfully get this fixed and covered? It's clearly a manufacturer's defect. A cost share would be fine with me since it's out of warranty I guess, but a flat out denial would not.

UPDATE-

Currently in the 5th week of it being at the dealer. They say it still hasn't produced any codes so they can't submit for coverage. Anyone else had any luck lately?
