Day 3 invite

I recently received an ITC from a 7 sisters bay street firm, and in the email, apart from an invitation to dinner on either day 1 or 2, I was also invited to a breakfast on day 3.

The breakfast from this firm is the only day 3 invitation I have received amongst several other ITCs.

Is an invitation to a day 3 breakfast standard for some large law firms at the ITC stage, or should I take this as a good sign that the firm is especially interested in me?

Second question: do firms have a ranked list of their preferred candidates going into in firms? If so, to what extent do these preliminary rankings effect interview experiences?

Thanks in advance!

2L toronto recruit curiosity

Curious about the number of OCIs people received and what is “typical”? All you need is 1, so I’m trying to remember that, but I’m feeling discouraged after hearing some friends with the same average getting 20+ OCIs.

Applied to 26 firms
B+ average
Osgoode
K-JD
6 OCIs (2 7 sisters)

2L recruit follow up

Applied to the 2L recruit. Made a connection with a partner at a 7 sister a few months ago. We got coffee twice and seemed to get along. What is the etiquette on messaging him something along the lines of “hey I applied… keep an eye out for my application”? Is this considered unprofessional/annoying? Obviously it would be done in a more ‘subtle’ way where I’m not begging for an interview. Am I not supposed to reach out? Will it help? Hurt? I dont know.

Biglaw chances 2L recruit?

4 As, 4 Bs, but the B’s are in contracts, torts, property and pubcon. The As are the “filler” courses if you will (legal writing, ethics, crim, indig)…

Obviously, I am thrilled with 4 As on my transcript, but I’m wondering if the fact that all my Bs are in “core” courses will hurt me at all? Do firms care about the course or just overall GPA? Hoping for bay street.
