Feeling lost: 70 percentile, 8/8/6 profile, 12+ workex, SC category

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to appear for CAT this year and honestly feeling a little anxious about my preparation.

My profile:

  • Category: SC
  • Academics: 8/8/6
  • Work experience: 12+ months
  • Current mock performance: around 70 percentile level
  • Preparation status: I haven’t done any proper structured preparation yet

I know I still have time, but I’m scared because I haven’t seriously started preparing and CAT feels very unpredictable.

I wanted some honest advice from people who have experience with CAT/IIM admissions:

  1. If I end up around 70 percentile, what colleges can I realistically expect as an SC candidate with my profile and work experience?
  2. Should I mainly target 80+ percentile, or is 70 enough for some good IIM calls?
  3. How can I improve from my current level to 80–85+ percentile?
  4. Especially for DILR, what should I do in the next few months? It feels like my biggest bottleneck.
