How do I find USTA adult leagues in Tampa, FL?

I’ve been playing tennis for less than a year. My level is probably around 3.0–3.5.

I already play UTR Flex League and Ultimate Tennis, but I want more competitive matches. I like matches where the result matters, so I want to try USTA team leagues or other USTA adult formats.

I tried to find USTA adult leagues in Tampa / Hillsborough County, but I got pretty lost. The USTA Florida website shows some county pages and contacts, but I couldn’t find a simple way to join a team or register for a league.

I already emailed adultteam@ustaflorida.com, but I wanted to ask here too.

Does anyone know how USTA adult leagues work in Tampa? Do I need to find a captain first? Is there a list of teams looking for players? Any local tips for finding a 3.0 or 3.5 team?

For context: I’m an adult player, not a junior, so junior leagues are not what I’m looking for.

Am I pusher?

I stay on the baseline and mostly just return everything. I can’t really hit winners yet. I try to move my opponent with crosscourt and down the line shots until I get an easier ball in the middle. Then I hit an approach shot and go to the net. I do some experiments with slices. I play on 3.0 flex leagues

Does this make me a pusher?
